It’s no secret that this past year was full of huge Blockbuster movies, and when it comes to Halloween, there’s no better way to celebrate than by cosplaying your favourite character.
That’s exactly what @rubymediamakeup is doing here, with this Glinda-inspired makeup look:
This stunning cosplay look is inspired by Glinda the Good, one of the witches from the Wicked franchise. After making a huge splash at the end of 2024, the Wicked franchise is coming back to theaters in November, with its second movie, Wicked: For Good.
Fans of this iconic movie will immediately recognise the pink bubbles and bright-eyed optimism of the film’s co-protagonist. In this specific cosplay, @rubymediamakeup chose to use our Pixie Pink Lenses, perfect for creating that wide-eyed, sparkling shine.
While pink lenses might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to Halloween, you can’t deny how gorgeous these pixie-themed contacts are. But how exactly does she do it? And is it something you could replicate yourself?
Here is a step-by-step tutorial for creating the perfect Halloween look at home:

Examine Your Lenses
This is always key with contact lenses; as soon as you receive them, you should check the box carefully to ensure that everything looks right.
As with any product, there is a slight chance that the box has been damaged in transit, and it’s always good to double-check before opening. A lot of our packaging also features a small window, which can allow you to view the lenses in their blister packets without even opening the outer box. If this is the case, make sure you examine the lens for any damage BEFORE opening the box. That way, if you’re forced to return the lenses to us, you can do so. Unfortunately, we do not accept returns of used or unsealed items, due to hygiene reasons.
Once you have checked your box and your lenses for any defects, make sure to read the packaging, as @rubymediamakeup does in the video. On here, you will find important information, like the prescriptive strength, measurements, and expiry date of the lenses.

Makeup
The next step is to complete your wonderful makeup look. Here, we can see that @rubymediamakeup is creating a soft glam look, with a simple base, natural lips, and a pink cut-crease eye shadow.
Compared to a lot of our affiliates’ SFX looks, this makeup is actually very achievable. Anyone with access to makeup can try out a natural base, and while the eyeshadow may seem a little intimidating, it gives you room to play with colours and techniques, or to keep things more casual if you’d prefer.
@rubymediamakeup is sticking close to her source material, imitating Glinda’s long-lashed eyes and glossy lips from the first movie.

Insert Your Lenses
Now you’re ready to wear your lenses! For experienced lens-wearers, inserting lenses is like second nature. But for those of you who may be trying this out for the first time, there are a few DOs and DON’Ts that are important to remember:
DO handle the lenses with clean hands
DO soak the lenses in eye-safe solution for 2 hours before your first use
DO check the lenses for any damage or debris
DO wash your lenses with eye-safe solution in between uses
DO store your lenses in a sterile lens case
DON’T wear your lenses for longer than 8 hours at a time
DON’T wear your lenses past their expiry date
When you’re ready to insert your lenses, place them right-side-up on a clean finger. You should see a soft U-shape. If you’re seeing a sharp V-shape instead, it’s possible that your lenses are inverted, so make sure to check before moving on.
To insert your lenses, place them gently against your eye as @rubymediamakeup is doing, and blink slowly to allow your eyes to adjust.
