Why should I use contact lens solution?
As we said, contact lens solution is antibacterial and pH-balancing, which means that it cleans and balances your lenses, getting them ready to put into your eyes. As contact lenses go directly on the eyeball, we want to make sure that they’re as clean and prepped as possible before use, so that you don’t risk irritating your eyes. Plus, our contact lenses are sent to you in blister packs which contain strong preserving liquid. This liquid is much harsher than our contact lens solution, which means that the lenses could irritate your eyes if they’re taken straight from the pack. If you remember to clean your lenses and soak them in eye-safe solution first, your eyes will thank you! For that same reason, we also use eye-safe solution to keep the lenses clean and hydrated in between uses.

How to use contact lens solution- prepping your lenses

Wash your hands and dry them, ensuring that they’re completely clean.

Open your packaging and examine the lenses for any damage or debris.

Rinse the lenses with eye-safe solution, rubbing them gently between your fingers.

Place the lenses in an empty, sterile lens case.

Add a few drops of fresh eye-safe solution to the case, covering the lenses.

Put the lid on the case and leave the lenses to soak for at least 2 hours.

Your lenses are ready to wear!
How to use contact lens solution- cleaning your lenses

After you have worn your lenses, you’ll need to wash them.

Ensure that your hands are clean and dry, and remove the lenses from your eyes.

Use fresh eye-safe solution to rinse off the lenses, rubbing them gently in between your fingers.

Examine the lenses to ensure that they don’t contain any damage or debris.

TOP TIP: Don’t ever use any other liquid for rinsing off your lenses. Any foreign substance will introduce harmful bacteria to your lenses. This includes water, so don’t ever rinse your lenses under the sink. Only use eye-safe solution.
How to use contact lens solution- storing your lenses

If your lenses are ‘daily’ (AKA single-use), you can dispose of them. But if they’re reusable, you’ll need to store them until your next use.

With clean hands, ensure that your lenses have been washed and checked for debris (see above).

Place the lenses in a sterile contact lens case, and fill the case with some fresh eye-safe solution so that the lenses are covered.

Put the lid on the case, and put the case somewhere safe and cool.

TOP TIP: If you leave your lenses to soak for multiple days at a time, make sure that you’re checking up on them every now and then (approx once a day). If you ever notice that the solution is being absorbed and the lenses look a little dry, you can top up the case with some fresh eye-safe solution. We don’t want our lenses to get dry!
