Upgrade your contact lens care kit with a barrel washer. This type of contact lens case is in the shape of a barrel and features two baskets for each of your contact lenses. The contact lens barrel case design has a screw top lid; some styles also feature a spinning washer function that allows you to rinse your contact lenses.

How do you use a barrel contact lens case?

To use your barrel contact lens case, first rinse it with contact lens solution to ensure it is clean and ready to use. Next, fill up the barrel with contact lens solution so that when the lid is screwed on, the baskets are fully submerged. Due to the displacement of liquid that will occur when you lower the baskets into the solution, do not fill the barrel completely to the top. Gently place your contact lenses in the baskets and close them. The baskets can be opened by gently unclipping them and closed by clipping them together. Lower your contact lens lid, loaded with your contact lenses, into the solution filled barrel. If you are storing your contact lenses then put them away, making sure the lid is screwed on securely. However, if you also want to rinse them, twist the lid or pull the chord to start the spinning motion.

We recommend using your contact lens cleaner for reusable contact lenses. While single-use daily lenses need to be soaked for at least 2 hours in fresh contact lens solution before use, they do not need to be rinsed in the same way. The ultra thin surface means that they may not stand up to the motion of the contact lens cleaner machine

30 day or 90 day lenses have a slightly thicker surface allowing them to be durable enough for repeated wear. In between uses, it is important to clean any debris and build-up from your lenses. You can achieve this with our contact lens barrel washers.

We have a range of basic contact lens barrel cases with a spinning washer feature if you are looking for a cheap contact lens case barrel style. These are available in a range of colours so you can choose your favourite or create an organised system for your contact lens collection by colour.

To upgrade your contact lens case, try the contact lens cactus barrel cleaner. This fun and functional design looks like a cactus due to the arm that is attached to the lid. This arm provides a purpose as it can be pulled to power the spinning motion of this barrel washer.

The barrel section of the cases is transparent to help you see your contact lenses and keep track of whether you need to top up or refresh your coloured contact lens solution.

Some of our contact lenses come with extra accessories. A contact lens travel case is a useful all-in-one kit to have when travelling so you always have on hand all the items you need for contact lens care. Accessories such as lens wands and contact lens tweezers can help you easily insert and remove your contact lenses. Especially if you need to change your contact lenses while on the go. These compact kits will ensure you are never stuck while travelling. Bring your contact lens solution to ensure you can regularly refresh and clean your lenses and case. You can also buy compact mirrors to help you check your contact lenses or insert and remove them wherever you are.

To help you keep track of which eye each lens is for, the baskets have a R and L embossed onto the plastic. If you wear different prescriptions, this will help you keep track of your lenses. For eye hygiene and health, it is best to always put the same lens back in the eye that you first used it in so your contact lens barrel case will help you to do this.

For more information on contact lens cases, you will find extensive guides and FAQs on our website to help you with every stage of contact lens wear. This includes preparing your lenses for use, inserting your contact lenses, cleaning your contact lenses and storing your contact lenses.

Please note, the barrel contact lens case is suited to any type of soft contact lenses this means that you can stock up on cases for your clear and coloured contact lenses whether they are prescription or non prescription. We don’t recommend using barrel cases for mini sclera or sclera coloured contact lenses as the basket size is usually designed for regular diameter contact lenses.

Aside from this, the contact lens washers are versatile and easy to carry with you if you are travelling or taking spare contact lenses in your bag. The airtight screw top seal will keep your contact lenses secure for your next use and the bonus spinning washer feature will ensure your contact lenses are well maintained, cleaned and cared for.
